For over 42 years Susan Rice has been making people laugh.
Before discovering stand-up, Rice spent nine years training and performing as a professional actress. She stepped onto her first comedy stage in March 1983—and by 1986, she was living in Los Angeles, working some of the most well-known comedy clubs across the country.
As she aged out of the comedy clubs, Rice found a new rhythm performing at charity fundraisers, corporate events, and community shows. During the pandemic, she helped bring laughter back to her local neighborhood by producing the St. Johns Comedy Festival in North Portland in both 2021 and 2022—giving talented local comics a stage after more than a year of shutdown.
In 2023, a submission to Don’t Tell Comedy led to an invitation to Los Angeles to record a 10-minute set for their massively popular YouTube channel. The set premiered on March 11, 2024, and quickly went viral—racking up views and earning Susan an invitation to perform for the celebrity judges on America’s Got Talent (AGT).
Later that year, she filmed her first-ever comedy special, “Silver Alert,” produced by Super Nice Guy Productions and distributed by Comedy Dynamics.
Susan never expected this late-career resurgence—but she’s thrilled to still be doing what she loves: making people laugh.
